Ben Affleck has been hard at work developing the Dennis Lehane crime novel Live By Night for the silver screen, and today the picture received the green light, less than three months after Argo won Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Deadline has the story today that pre-production has begun with shooting set for early fall. Affleck plans on leading this one as well (of course,) but expect more big names to follow given the man’s obvious talent behind the camera.
The plot of this one centers around a son of a police captain who gets involved in organized crime. Live By Night is set against prohibition-era Boston, Tampa, and Cuba. How did we know Boston would be one of the locales?
